Laura Owen, originally from Houston, TX, has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including her current recurring role on Rizzoli and Isles (TNT). In addition to her on-screen abilities, Laura has proven herself as a talented and competent producer and filmmaker. The recognition received from her various short films earned her a slew of additional shorts, a music video, as well as a sole-producer credit for the half hour pilot "Amanda McKay".
Laura began project development in 2009 with the online series and live media entity "It's So LA", in which she assisted development, story, production and starred in. She continued expanding her career into filmmaking with her first short "Chocolates" in 2013, which she wrote, produced and stared in. "Chocolates" played a number of festivals including New Filmmakers NY, Sedona Int'l Film Fest, Sonoma Int'l Film Fest, among others.
Laura has since continued to work as a filmmaker and expand her talents on “Winged Feet Do Fly”, a short film which she wrote, produced, directed and starred in. "Winged Feet" has screened at the San Antonio Film Festival and won the silver Remi Award for best dramatic short at Worldfest.
